Sliding Wardrobes for Sloping Ceilings
Sloping Ceilings? This Is Where Made-to-Measure Matters
Loft rooms and top-floor bedrooms look great — but sloping ceilings make standard wardrobes awkward. A freestanding unit usually leaves wasted space above, looks unfinished, and never truly fits the room.
With a made-to-measure sliding wardrobe, we build the wardrobe to the ceiling line so you get a proper fitted finish and more usable storage.
We design and fit sliding wardrobes across South Wales, including Mountain Ash, Merthyr Tydfil, Pontypridd and Cardiff.
The Problem: A Sloped Ceiling Line
On this bedroom, the ceiling slope meant a standard wardrobe would have:
- Left a big wedge of wasted space at the top
- Looked “boxed in” or unfinished
- Reduced storage capacity
- Struggled to sit neatly against the ceiling line
Our Solution: A Chamfered Frame for a True Floor-to-Ceiling Fit
Instead of forcing a square wardrobe into an angled room, we chamfered the frame to follow the slope of the ceiling. That lets the wardrobe sit floor-to-ceiling, tight to the ceiling line, with a clean built-in look.
Why this works so well:
- Maximises storage (no wasted space above)
- Looks seamless and fitted
- Ideal for loft rooms and awkward angles
- Sliding doors keep access easy in tighter bedrooms
Why Sliding Doors Are Perfect for Loft Rooms Too
In sloped-ceiling rooms, space is usually at a premium. Sliding doors help because:
- There’s no swing clearance needed
- The room stays open and easy to move around
- Large door panels give a sleek, modern finish (mirror or glass works brilliantly here)
