Made-To-Measure Jewellery Drawers For Fitted Wardrobes

Good wardrobe storage is not simply about fitting more into a room. It is about giving everything a proper place and making the items you use easy to see, organise and reach.

For this customer, that meant creating dedicated drawers for jewellery, watches and smaller accessories. Instead of leaving these items loose in a standard drawer, we made the drawer unit to work with the customer’s chosen IKEA jewellery inserts.

Storage Designed Around What You Own

Every customer uses their wardrobe differently. Some need more long hanging space, some prefer additional shelves and others want drawers for the smaller things that can easily become untidy or get lost.

Jewellery, watches, cufflinks, belts and accessories are much easier to manage when they have their own organised space. Divided inserts keep pieces separated, help protect more delicate items and make it possible to see everything at a glance.

The jewellery organisers were chosen by the customer. We then sized and built the drawers to accommodate them properly within the wardrobe design.

Why The Details Need To Be Planned Early

If you already have a particular drawer insert or organiser in mind, it is best to mention it during the design stage. Its width, depth and height can then be allowed for before the wardrobe interior is manufactured.

This is especially important with fitted wardrobes because the position of drawers affects the shelving and hanging space around them. Planning everything together creates a balanced interior and avoids compromising the storage elsewhere.

More Than A Standard Wardrobe Interior

Standard wardrobes often come with a fixed arrangement that dictates where everything has to go. A made-to-measure interior works the other way around: we first look at what you need to store and then design the available space around you.

Drawer units can be combined with double hanging, long hanging, adjustable shelving and full-width top shelves. Their position can also be planned around the sliding door openings, so the parts of the wardrobe you use most remain easy to access.

Made In Our Mountain Ash Workshop

Our drawer units and wardrobe interiors are prepared to measure in our Mountain Ash workshop before installation. Keeping this work in-house gives us the flexibility to adjust the layout around the room, the sliding doors and the customer’s individual storage requirements.
